Infrared Transfer :

  1. On Windows "Start" menu, click "My Network Places"
  2. Under "Network Tasks", click "View network connections"
  3. Next, click "Create a new connection"
  4. The "New Connection Wizard" should appear. Click "Next >"
  5. On the next page, select "Set up an advanced connection", then click "Next >"
  6. On the next page, select "Connect directly to another computer", then click "Next >"
  7. On the next page, select "Host", then click "Next >"
  8. On the next page, in the pull down box, select device "Infrared Port" for this connection and click "Next >"
  9. On the next page, tick all the users that are allowed to use this connection. Click "Next >"
  10. Click "Finish" on next page.
  11. This completes the setup of the conneciton. Go back to the "Network Connections" window, you should now see your incoming connection in the "Incoming" setion.
  12. To transfer files, start the infrared device on your phone. You can do this by going to Applications and then "Connections" and select "Infrared" and then "Activate". The infrared will be automatically deactivated in about 30s if not used. So if you have not started trasnfering within the timeout period, you may activate it again. Infrared device requires line of sight. Therefore, your should normally point your phone to the back of your PC.
  13. Once activated, you PC will automatically recoganize the the "New Hardware" and start the file transfer window. Locate ".sis" that you have downloaded and click transfer. The file will be sent to your phone as a message in your "Inbox".

Bluetooth Transfer :

  1. Connect your bluetooth dongle and click the "Bluetooh device" in the "Network neighbourhood" window.
  2. On your phone, goto Applicaitons->Connection and turn on bluetooth.
  3. When the phone beeps and asks "Accept connection ?" answer "Yes".
  4. On your PC, the phone device will be displayed on the "Bluetooh device" window, select the phone device.
  5. Drag the downloaded file ".sis" into the "Bluetooth device" window. The file is now sent to the phone as a message in the "In Box".
